Empty Rooms

Life moves quickly. With that being said it sometimes feels as if it isn’t moving at all which surprisingly, is what it’s like when everyone around you is moving away. How do we process the feelings that everyone is moving on and you seem stuck in an empty room everyday wallowing in self pity. Well let's stop doing that.

Celebrate the Success of Others

The first step is to be happy for those that have moved on to better things. I personally have had a lot of friends that have moved over the past year or so, but they all moved on to further careers and to chase dreams and follow God’s will for their lives. Each of these friends I also got to celebrate with. Watching people leave is hard but when you love them and want the best for them it is also a very joyful time as they grow and conquer the world! This also gives you the opportunity to listen to all of their stories that don’t involve your hometown. Ultimately, be happy for those around you who are growing and chasing their dreams! To all my friends that have moved, know that I love you and I am cheering you on.

Fight for Yourself

Success is not something that is handed over. You have to work for it so what are you doing to accomplish these goals? A lot of people are under the impression that you graduate college with that degree and you immediately get a great job. While this may happen for a lot of people it doesn’t always happen like that. Personally, I have had a couple of jobs where I learned exactly what I didn’t want my career to be but giving up isn’t an option when you have rent to pay. For all of my readers who are trying to make it out there, know that I believe in you and as hard as it feels right now, this too shall pass. You just have to work for it, and work hard.

Happy Hobbies

Work hard play hard, right? I think that hobbies are important for people in each stage of life. Specifically speaking for this blog though, the ones that are seemingly alone more than 78% of the time. If you find yourself dwelling on what your life looks like every night at home...get some hobbies. Do something that you enjoy regardless if you have friends to do it with or not. I know with the whole covid thing a lot of us are stuck at home but there are things you can do outside that still respect guidelines. Rekindle old friendships and play some ball a couple nights a week! I don’t necessarily want to say distract yourself from your problems but you can make yourself busy and productive to help you have a better life. I struggle with this personally. While I am challenging you I am also challenging myself.

Plant the Seed

When you find yourself in a season of waiting, look around and see what seeds you are planting for your future. Instead of focusing on what everyone else is doing, focus on what you can do. Productivity in your life is the only way to keep moving forward. Pray daily over your actions and your future. What part of yourself or your life do you need to work on to prepare you for what’s coming? God has great plans for you and it’s important to not get discouraged in your season of waiting even if you feel like that season is a million years long. Trust me…………...I really get it. Plant the seeds, water them and let God grow them.

Celebrate the success of your friends.

Work your butt off for yourself.

Have some time for fun. Life is short.

You don’t have to be serious all the time.

Plant seeds for your life. Keep your roots in God.

Pray for your future.

Know your worth.
