Respect the Culture

There are millions of opinions going around about cultures with individuals who are fighting for their right to be heard. Now, why respecting other human beings regardless of their skin color or where they come from seems to be so difficult for some people I simply don’t understand. Let’s just be clear here… if you’re still a racist I seriously pray that you have a heart change because that’s just unacceptable behavior if you ask me. Let’s move forward with honor, dignity and respect of any culture or individual of a different culture that you come across.
The People Around You
I assume you’re aware that I’m the type of person that says how it is. If you are a white person with only white friends and you have no experience of different cultures I advise you to educate yourself and make some new friends that can teach you. Having friends with different cultural backgrounds gives you the opportunity to listen to their story and learn about what makes them who they are and yes, a lot of that goes into the culture they were raised in. Not only will you be more diverse in your width of knowledge over other cultures but you will learn and understand it. A lot of people have anger towards what they don’t understand so how about instead of being hateful, we educate and grow. Respect all of the people around you.
The Wall
Okay, so this one really gets me fired up. I get the principle of doing things right, but one of the things I will say is that it would be easier for immigrants to do things right if the government didn’t make it so dang hard for individuals trying to make a better life for themselves. I would encourage you to do some research over the process of getting access to American soil and read the stories over how it was intentionally made difficult in an attempt to ensure they don’t get what they need done. I'm specifically talking about immigrants gaining citizenship and all of the hoops they have to jump through and how purposefully difficult the government makes it. You would be shocked at some of the stories people tell. Another thing, and i want you to really hear me on this one….
UNTIL, you have been into the parts of different countries where there is poverty that you will NEVER be able to relate to, I advise you to refrain from making profound comments about immigrants escaping to America. I understand that everyone doesn’t have the opportunity to see the depths and poverty in other countries but it’s there and it’s real and until you’ve seen it for yourself you will never fully comprehend how detrimental it is to live like that. I’m talking about all countries.
Language Barriers
It amazes me how often I hear comments about “ugh they don’t speak English” as if it has greatly inconvenienced them. Here’s a thought, learn some of a new language. Get out that handy dandy smartphone and get on google translate. Bring along a friend who is diverse and can speak that language. News flash, this world is full of different people and there are a lot of ways to translate so instead of getting all pissed off about it, figure out a way to help both sides.
BLM
I have been really quiet over this topic due to the fact that I am a white privileged individual that will never understand the perspective of a black man or woman. When I get pulled over, the only thing I worry about is getting a ticket and my insurance going up. Imagine what it’s like to fear for your life. Black Lives Matter. As a white person I will never understand the emotions behind racism but I will stand beside you and I will stand up for you. I will respect you and I am for you. Fight for what is right. Fight for the lives that were taken. Fight for justice.
BLMT
Blue lives matter too. Not all cops are bad. I understand that there are corrupt ones and they ruin it for everyone else. You know, like that kid that acted out in kindergarten and everyone got their recess taken away… it was one kid, not all of them. Law enforcement will be there when you need them to protect and serve. Show grace to the good ones and let’s all pray that the bad ones get their crap together.
Love Like Jesus
I know it’s a lot easier said than done but real talk, if we all just learn to love and respect one another I think the world would be a better place.
Just be a nice human.
